Rodrigo Batista

Rodrigo Batista is a theater maker and educator. He is currently developing a series of solo works with the ambition of bringing insurrection inside the performance space. As an initial result of this research, Rodrigo developed the two-part performance The Furious Rodrigo Batista (the second part is still in progress). He is pursuing a DAS Theater Master’s degree at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. He is a holds a BA and AM from the University of São Paulo in theater directing. He worked for over 10 years as part of the Brazilian group [pH2]: estado de teatro (2007 - 2017), presenting theatrical investigations in dialogue with philosophy, cinema and dance. In São Paulo, he was awarded with several grants for creating and presenting shows in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Rodrigo also worked as an educator in several cultural programs in São Paulo from 2010 - 2016.
